About Course

Raspberry Pi Foundation

Description

Learn how to set up a programming club for young people

In today’s world, technology is everywhere, so it’s never been more important to know how to code. It’s easier to learn these skills early on in life, which is why coding is a great subject for young people to learn.

CoderDojo is a volunteer-led community of free programming clubs for young people aged 7 to 17. This course will build your confidence in coding and help you to set up a CoderDojo in your local area.

You’ll find out how to teach young people how to build a website, create an app or a game, or explore technology in an informal, creative and social environment.

Please note: This course will teach you how to run in-person CoderDojo sessions. We are currently only processing applications for Dojos that will be able to run in-person events soon.

Who will you learn with?

Giustina Mizzoni

Giustina joined the CoderDojo Foundation as the first employee in January 2013. Previously she managed the Irish operations of Dogpatch Labs, a co-working space for startup technology companies.

Philip Harney

Philip makes educational content at the CoderDojo Foundation — part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation — producing projects for young people to work on as well as guides and courses for volunteers.

Who developed the course?

raspberry pi

The Raspberry Pi Foundation works to put the power of digital making into the hands of people all over the world, so they are capable of understanding and shaping our increasingly digital world.

very good course but only 19h really it is very important in my work I enjoyed and learned

In this course I learn how to build a website, create an application or game, or explore technology in an informal, creative and social environment.

It explains it slow enough for someone with no coding experience and dyslexia to understand.

The experience was good. All the things that i have learned till now are easily understandable and compatible. Would love to make a big project using all this knowledge.

the explanation is pretty good I didn't feel bored in the entire course. initially, I don't know how to write code but now I can think about how to proceed with the codes
