#NA-02-18 IUCN Red List of Ecosystems: The Global Standard for Assessing Risks to Ecosystems
About Course
Deakin UniversityDescription
Learn how the Red List of Ecosystems is helping to sustain global biodiversity
Nature is under threat around the world. Understanding where ecosystems are at greatest risk allows us to act to sustain species and ecosystems.
The IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List of Ecosystems is a rigorous standardised assessment method that supports decision making while generating strategies for policy and management practice.
The Red List of Ecosystems is the global standard for ecosystem risk assessment, used by governments, NGOs, scientists and practitioners to sustain biodiversity worldwide.

Overview of an ecosystem assessment
In this course, I learned how to design models, how to interpret and use the results to make informed decisions, and how to use models to evaluate energy and environmental policies. It was very rewarding.
Many species in the world today are at risk of extinction, so understanding the greatest risks to ecosystems can help us take action to preserve species and ecosystems. It's a great course. It's worth learning.
In this course I learned what the ecosystem Red list is and how it helps maintain global biodiversity. It's a good lesson.
