Learn practical strategies for making education inclusive

Millions of children around the world are excluded from access to education because of a disability – robbing them of their potential and diminishing our society.

On this course you will learn about inclusive education, understanding what barriers there are to learning and how to challenge them. Over six weeks you will learn from a range of people with experience of disability, discovering practical ways to create a more inclusive learning environment that you can apply in your own area.

Who will you learn with?

Judith McKenzie

Judith is a lecturer and researcher in Disability Studies at the University of Cape Town. She has worked in rural areas focusing particularly on community based and interdisciplinary projects.

 

Chioma Ohajunwa

Chioma has a B.Ed in Special Education, MPhil in Disability Studies and is currently working on her PhD. Chioma has worked in the disability field in Nigeria, Liberia and South Africa

I learnt a great deal from this course. A lot of the content I hadn't really thought about before. It raised many questions in my head.I did not find the course easy at times, but that was a good thing as it challenged me and encouraged me to look at other web sites regarding the material in the course.

Really useful course.This course was packed with useful information and I took a lot from it. Throughly enjoyed. It covered everything. It contained informed about all school from primary to secondary and how they can work together with everyone to successfully make schools inclusive.

I am starting my studies in Postgraduate diploma in Inclusive Education.Before doing the online course with Future learn i was not so sure about my studies, but this online course has prepared me to look forward to my studies next year.i have gain necessary tools and strategies to help me in preparing for my studies and my career as an educator.

The course was higher than my expectations. I enjoyed it and learnt so much from it. I understand inclusion better now and I'll apply this knowledge in my community.

I work in museum education and decided to take this course so I could make our museum more accessible to all visitors. This course really made me this about the many ways disability affects learning and how simple changes and a few extra resources can really make our museum a more enjoyable experience.
