Ageing and some of the challenges it represents can be a daunting experience for older people, their family, friends and healthcare teams alike.

The purpose of this course is to help you better understand and address these challenges by exploring a partnership model of care that aims to build stronger and more beneficial relationships between older people and those who care for them in a variety of care settings.

In this course, we’ll introduce you to the partnership model and provide you with some practical tools and strategies for creating your own care plan.

  • Principles of the partnership-centred model of care and how to apply them in a variety of settings
  • The benefits of partnership-centred care for older people, their families and healthcare teams

Alfred Deakin Professor Alison Hutchinson is Chair in Nursing at Monash Health in Melbourne, and Professor of Nursing in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Deakin University.

 

 

Helen Forbes

Helen has extensive experience in teaching nursing students in a range of settings. Key interests include use of knowledge in practice to improve patient outcomes and teaching and learning practices.

This course is extremely well done to help you understand all the demenions of working with or dealing with aged individuals. As a professional caregiver, it enhanced my understanding of people as they age.

I work with older people on a daily basis. This course let you look at older people differently. Also a positive outlook on getting old, being healthy, socializing and a good well being for myself.

Its a decent course and it gave me a different perspective in this field. I like her teaching skill as it's very detailed.
